Lexicographers face the task of detecting the lexicographic status of some word forms that look like case forms of nouns but can behave as function words to a certain degree. the Distribution Index Calculator for Estonian is a web-based application which finds the frequency data of word forms and lemmas from an annotated corpus and retrieves a statistic called the Distribution Index (DI). The DI indicates the relative prominence of a word form as compared to its expected normative level of salience. The application can also be used for linguistic research.

Ressurss on mõeldud abistama leksikograafe sõnavormide leksikograafilise staatuse üle otsustamisel. Veebipõhine rakendus, mis leiab märgendatud tekstikorpusest (ENC2019) sõnavormi ja selle lemma sagedused ning võrdleb sõnavormi suhtelist sagedust vastava käändsõnavormi normaalse esinemissagedusega. Väljastab distributsiooni-indeksi väärtuse ning vastavalt seatud lävendile sildi, mis iseloomustab uuritava sõnavormi suhtelist sagedust: „normist väiksem“, „normaalne“, „normist suurem“, „kriitiline“. Rakendust saab kasutada ka keeleteaduslikus uurimistöös.
